Various Roads, Acol in the District of Thanet - Amendment 1: Speed Limit

Consultation has concluded

The effect of this proposed Order would be to reduce the current speed limit to 20MPH on the following roads in Acol, Thanet:-

  • Acol Hill – From its junction with Crispe Road for a distance of 206 metres in a northerly direction.
  • Crispe Road – From its junction with Acol Hill for a distance of 342 meters in a westerly direction.
  • Margate Hill – From its junction with Acol Hill for a distance of 30 metres in an easterly direction to join up with the existing 30mph speed limit.
  • Minster Road – From its junction with Plumstone Road and The Street for a distance of 222 metres in a southerly direction.
  • Plumstone Road – From its junction with The Street and Minster Road for a distance of 347 metres in a westerly direction.
  • Dilnot Lane, Nursery Fields & The Street – For their entire length.

This order is proposed for the following reasons:

  • to avoid the danger to persons or other traffic using the road or any other road or for preventing the likelihood of any such danger arising
  • for preserving or improving the amenities of the area through which the road runs.

The scheme will be reviewed so that the Council can make the decision to make the Order permanent, amend or abandon it.
