Update 27 May 2022

Thank you to everyone who took part in this consultation.

The consultation report summarising the feedback is available to view from the 'Consultation documents' section on this page.

The scheme proposal and the outcomes of this consultation will be discussed by the Tonbridge and Malling Joint Transportation Board (JTB) on the 6 June 2022.

We are consulting on proposals to install speed cushions and wig-wag signals (flashing amber warning lights) to assist the school crossing patrol on Upper Haysden Lane near the Nexus School. This scheme would help to improve road safety for pedestrians and pupils during school start and finish times.

We would also be changing the speed limit to 30mph as well as installing the speed cushions along a section of Upper Haysden Lane from the A21 Tonbridge bypass bridge (just south of the access into Nexus School) for a distance of approximately 500 metres north up to the junction with Masefield Way.

Find out more about our proposals by reading the consultation leaflet, which is available in the Consultation documents section and have your say by completing the consultation questionnaire.

Following the consultation, a report will be compiled summarising the analysis of the responses. The report will be available to view on this page. The consultation responses and Equality Impact Assessment will be used to inform the decision on whether to proceed with this scheme.

If the decision is taken to proceed, we are aiming to deliver the scheme in August 2022 during the Summer holiday period.
