Public Footpath SR341 (part), Westerham Public Path Creation and Definitive Map and Statement Order 2026

Kent County Council has received an application, and subsequently made an Order, to create part of Public Footpath SR341 at Westerham.

Under The Highways Act 1980, the County Council has the power to make Orders to create, extinguish or divert footpaths and bridleways. Legislation affecting this proposal is contained within Section 26 of The Highways Act 1980. The grounds for a creation are that there is a need for a new footpath or bridleway in the area. Consideration must also be given to the extent to which the path or way would add to the convenience or enjoyment of a substantial section of the public, or to the convenience of persons resident in the area, and the effect which the creation of the path or way would have on the rights of persons interested in the land.

Further details about the application (including how to respond) and a plan showing the proposal can be found by viewing the Order, Notice and Statement in the Documents section.

This Order should also be considered alongside The Kent County Council (Public Footpath SR341 (part), Westerham) Public Path Extinguishment and Definitive Map Modification Order 2026.

The deadline for responses is 16 March 2026
