Various roads in Seal, Sevenoaks - Amendment 3: Speed limit order

The effect of this made Order will be to reduce the current speed limit from 40mph to 30mph on the following lengths of roads in Seal, Sevenoaks:

  • Ash Platt Road - for its entire length.
  • Highlands Park – from its junction with Ash Platt Road to a point 7 metres west of the boundary of 7/8 Highlands Park (Excluding the cul-de-sacs).
  • Seal Road – from its junction with High Street to a point 95 metres west of its junction with Pinewood Avenue.
  • Childsbridge Lane – to reduce the national speed limit to 40 MPH speed limit from a point 12 metres south of its western spur to a point 127 metres south of its junction with Childsbridge Farm Place.

This was originally consulted on as Amendment 29.

This order has been made for the following reasons:

  • for avoiding danger to persons or other traffic using the road or any other road or for preventing the likelihood of any such danger arising
  • for preserving or improving the amenities of the area through which the road runs.
  • for facilitating the passage on the road or any other road of any class of traffic (including pedestrians).

    Following the statutory consultation period, the scheme has been reviewed and the decision has been taken to make this Order permanent.

    Anyone may, by application to the High Court by 19 February 2024, challenge the validity of the Orders or of any provision contained in them on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, or any instrument made thereunder, or that there has been a failure to comply with any statutory requirement to the Orders.
