Thank you to everyone who took part in this consultation.
The consultation report summarising the feedback and the confirmed School Term Dates are available to view from the 'Post consultation documents' section on this page.
We are consulting on school term and holiday date patterns and we would like to know your views on the proposed dates.
In accordance with our usual practice, we are consulting on arrangements for the period covering the academic year 2024/25. The proposed dates can be viewed in the 'Consultation documents' section.
We will consult with various groups including all Kent schools via the e-bulletin, other key stakeholders such as governors (including parent groups), the diocesan bodies, trade unions and our neighbouring authorities. The consultation process will last for six weeks and be open to the general public. Feedback from this consultation will be reported to the Children, Young People and Education Cabinet Committee for their consideration and following their recommendations the Cabinet Member will take the decision to determine the dates for 2024/25.
We are responsible for setting term dates for community and voluntary controlled schools, while governing bodies of foundation and voluntary aided schools are responsible for setting their own term dates. Academies (and free schools) have the freedom to change the length of terms.
