Ramsgate Road, Margate in the District of Thanet - Amendment 6: Speed Limit Order

The effect of this made Order will be to reduce the current 40mph speed limit to 30mph on Ramsgate Road in Margate, Thanet - from a point 31 metres north of its junction with Chapel Hill Close for a distance of 220 metres in a north westerly direction to the existing 30 speed limit.

This order has been made for the following reasons:

  • avoid the danger to persons or other traffic using the road or any other road or for preventing the likelihood of any such danger arising
  • for preserving or improving the amenities of the area through which the road runs.

    Following the statutory consultation period, the scheme has been reviewed and the decision has been taken to make this Order permanent.

    Anyone may, by application to the High Court by Monday 5 May 2025, challenge the validity of the Orders or of any provision contained in them on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, or any instrument made thereunder, or that there has been a failure to comply with any statutory requirements to the Orders.
