Pootings Road, Westerham in the District of Sevenoaks - Amendment 2: Speed Limit

The effect of this made Order will be to replace the current 40mph limit with a 30mph limit on Pootings Road in Westerham, Sevenoaks – from a point 15 metres south of the southern property boundary with The Well House for a distance of 656 metres in a south easterly direction.

This scheme has been promoted by the Kent County Council Local Member.

This order was originally proposed as Amendment 8 but due to the recent consolidation order it has been renamed as above.

This order has been made for the following reasons:

  • for avoiding danger to persons or other traffic using the road or any other road or for preventing the likelihood of any such danger arising
  • for preserving or improving the amenities of the area through which the road runs.

    Following the statutory consultation period, the scheme has been reviewed and the decision has been taken to make this Order permanent.

    Anyone may, by application to the High Court by 22 December 2025, challenge the validity of the Orders or of any provision contained in them on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, or any instrument made thereunder, or that there has been a failure to comply with any statutory requirement to the Orders.
