Parkwood Hall Co-operative Academy

The Trust Board of Parkwood Hall Co-operative Academy is consulting on a proposal to gradually increase the school’s designated capacity, from the currently approved number of 120 to 192 students by the 2031/32 academic year and change its age range from 8 to 19 year olds (Year 4 to Year 14) to 4 to 19 year olds (Reception to Year 14). This consultation is being conducted in accordance with the Department for Education’s ‘Making significant changes to an academy’ (non-statutory guidance).

Have your say

The consultation letter outlines the reasons for the proposal and explains how the decision-making process will work. The Trust Board would welcome your views and encourage you to share your feedback by completing the Consultation Response Form. The letter and response form can be found on Parkwood Hall Co-operative Academy's website.

Please ensure your response reaches Parkwood Hall Co-operative Academy by midday on Friday 18 July 2025.

What happens next?

A report summarising the responses received during the consultation will be submitted to the Full Trustee Board for consideration. On the basis that the Trustee Board and KCC are minded to continue to progress the proposal, a report will be presented to Kent County Council's Children, Young People and Education Cabinet Committee for funding to be agreed. If the Cabinet Member agrees to fund the proposal, the school will submit a significant change request to the Department for Education. Whether the proposal goes ahead or not will also be dependent on the planning process. The proposed new buildings and facilities will be subject to separate planning requirements which would include further public consultation.
