Maidstone Road and Oad Street, Borden in the Borough of Swale - Amendment 17: Speed Limit

The effect of the order would be to introduce a 40mph speed limit and reduce the current speed limit on the following roads in Borden, Swale:-

  • Maidstone Road – From its junction with Oad Street to a point 320 metres northeast of its junction with Oak Close.
  • Oad Street – From a point in line with the western side entrance of Vinson Farm to the boundary with Maidstone Borough Council.

This order is proposed for the following reasons:

  • for avoiding danger to persons or other traffic using the road or any other road or for preventing the likelihood of any such danger arising
  • for preserving or improving the amenities of the area through which the road runs
  • for facilitating the passage on the road or any other road of any class of traffic (including pedestrians).

The scheme will be reviewed so that the Council can make the decision to make the Order permanent, amend or abandon it.
