Lydd Road, New Romney in the District of Folkestone and Hythe - Amendment 22: Waiting Restrictions

The effect of this proposed Order would be to place double yellow lines no waiting at any time on the following lengths of road in New Romney, Folkestone and Hythe:-

  • Lydd Road - (1) On the south-west side from its junction with Speakers Close for a distance of 45 metres in a north-westerly direction. (2) On the south-west side from its junctions with Speakers Close for a distance of 49 metres in a south-easterly direction. (3) On the north-east side from its junction with Sussex Road to its junction with Longshore Grove excluding the disabled persons parking bay. (4) On the north-east side from its junction with Longshore Grove for a distance of 14 metres in a north-westerly direction. (5) On the north east side from its junction with Sussex Road for a distance of 11 metres in a southerly direction. (6) Remove the DPPB from outside 1 Spitalfield Terrace.
  • Speakers Close – On both sides from its junction with Lydd Road for a distance of 5 metres in a south westerly direction.
  • Sussex Road – On the south side place the DPPB from a point 10 metres east of the junction with Lydd Road for a distance of 6.6 metres in a easterly direction.

This order is proposed for the following reasons:

  • for avoiding danger to persons or other traffic using the road or any other road or for preventing the likelihood of any such danger arising
  • for preserving or improving the amenities of the area through which the road runs
  • for facilitating the passage on the road or any other road of any class of traffic (including pedestrians).


The scheme will be reviewed so that the Council can make the decision to make the Order permanent, amend or abandon it.
