Lower Chantry Lane, Longport in the District of Canterbury - Amendment 10: Prohibition of Traffic Movements

The effect of this proposed Order would be to revoke the banned right hand turn and no u turns on the following length of road in Canterbury:-

  • Lower Chantry Lane – (1) Remove the banned right hand turn out of Ivy Lane. (2) Remove the No U Turns between St Georges Place and Longport in both directions.

This order is proposed for the following reasons:

  • for avoiding danger to persons or other traffic using the road or any other road of for preventing the likelihood of any such danger arising.
  • for preserving or improving the amenities of the area through which the road runs.
  • for facilitating the passage on the road or any other road of any class of traffic (including pedestrians).

The scheme will be reviewed so that the Council can make the decision to make the Order permanent, amend or abandon it.
