Thank you to everyone who took part in this consultation. The Consultation Report is now available from the 'Documents' section on this page.
We were not able to secure funding from the Community Levy Infrastructure Fund so we are currently looking for alternative suitable funding opportunities. Once funding is secured, the scheme can be progressed further into the construction phase. We will create a new project page on kent.gov.uk where any updates will be available.
We are carrying out this consultation to hear your feedback on a junction improvement scheme at the A229 Linton Hill and Heath Road traffic signalised junction.
This crossroads junction has suffered with heavy congestion for many years and is also a site that has seen a number of collisions.
The scheme is proposing to:
widen both the south bound and north bound Linton Hill approaches to three lanes. This will mean that there would be two straight ahead lanes on each approach with a long merge after the traffic signals.
add an additional lane on Heath Road in both directions.
add new push button-controlled crossing facilities at both Heath Road junctions and the A229 Linton Hill south of the junction.
improve the existing crossing phase on the northern approach of Heath Road.
move the bus stops on Heath Road (towards Coxheath) and the A229 Linton Hill (towards Maidstone) to accommodate the widening of the lanes.
Have your say!
Your feedback is essential to help us shape the latest design layout to ensure it best suits the needs of your local community and local businesses.
Whether you support the proposed design or have some concerns about it, we want to hear your views.
You can provide your feedback by completing the consultation questionnaire available below. We are also holding two drop-in events where you can talk to a member of the team if you have any design questions and view A1 size scheme plans.
