Details of the proposal were reported to and endorsed by the Children’s, Young People and Education Cabinet Committee on 12 May 2026. The Cabinet Member for Education and Skills, having considered the recommendation from the Cabinet Committee and all the responses to the consultation, has agreed that a Public Notice should be issued.

The Public Notice is being published in KM Thanet Extra on 11 June 2026 and is available to view in the Documents section on this webpage, together with the complete proposal.

The Public Notice will run for four weeks, during which time, any person may send in a response supporting, objecting to or commenting on the proposal.

We would like to hear your views on a proposal to increase the designated number of Laleham Gap School from 188 to 208 from September 2026.

We have completed an Equality Impact Assessment (EqIA) to see if the proposal could affect anyone unfairly. We welcome your views on the assumptions we have made and the conclusions we have drawn. The EqIA is available to from the Documents section on this webpage.
