Restricted Byway KH667 at Lenham - Definitive Map Modification Order 2024

Kent County Council has received an application, and subsequently made an Order, to amend the legal record of Public Rights of Way, known as the Definitive Map and Statement, by recording a Restricted Byway running between Mount Castle Lane and the Great Stour river at Lenham Forstal.

Under the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981, the County Council may make an Order to modify the Definitive Map where it is considered that a public right of way which is not shown on the map is reasonably alleged to subsist. The Order will only take effect if it is confirmed; making and advertising the Order provides an opportunity for objections and representations to be made.

Due to objections received, the matter has been referred (as required) to the Planning Inspectorate for determination. The matter will be dealt with by way of the written representations procedure. A copy of the timetable for the submission of documents by the parties involved can be found in the Documents section.
