Kent Street and Malling Road Junction Improvements
We are carrying out this consultation to hear your feedback on a junction improvement scheme at Kent Street and A228 Malling Road in Maidstone.
The junction currently has very poor visibility for vehicles wishing to turn out and into the Malling Road from Kent Street.
The scheme is proposing to:
install traffic signals at the junctions on Kent Street and Malling Road to make it easier for vehicles to turn in and out.
widen the carriageway along Malling Road from the junction at Kent Street to Beech Road.
provide a push button pedestrian crossing facility on Malling Road.
provide a new crossing point with tactile paving at Beech Road.
provide a 4 metre wide shared cycle and footway on the western side of the Malling Road towards Kings Hill.
install two new bus stops to the north of Kent Street.
Have your say!
Your feedback is essential to help us shape the latest design layout to ensure it best suits the needs of your local community and local businesses.
Whether you support the proposed design or have some concerns about it, we want to hear your views.
You can provide your feedback by completing the consultation questionnaire available below. We are also holding two drop-in events where you can talk to a member of the team if you have any design questions and view A1 size scheme plans.
