Hart Street, Maidstone in the Borough of Maidstone - Amendment 10: Waiting Restrictions
The effect of this made Order will be to extend and place double yellow lines (DYL) following an experimental order on Hart Street in Maidstone – on the southeastern side (1) realign the DYL from the northern junction with Barker Road (2) remove the single yellow line (SYL) outside 17-29 for a distance of 28 metres and replace with time limited bays of 20 minutes with no return for 40 minutes Mon-Sat 8am – 6.30pm (3) remove the remaining 7.5 metres of SYL and replace with DYL’s.
This order was originally advertised as Variation 52 but due to the recent consolidation order it has been renamed as above.
This order has been made for the following reasons:
- to improve flow of traffic within the Lockmeadow estate by reducing turning movements and encouraging traffic to use the one-way section of Hart Street. The scheme also aims to improve local amenity of the area by reducing congestion and driver conflict
- to reduce queuing traffic on Barker Road and the A20 The Broadway
- for avoiding danger to persons or other traffic using the road or any other road or for preventing the likelihood of any such danger arising
- for facilitating the passage on the road or any other road of any class of traffic (including pedestrians).
