Byway Open to all Traffic EE496 and Restricted Byway EE497 at Wingham and Goodnestone - Definitive Map Modification Order 2022

Kent County Council has received an application, and subsequently made an Order, to amend the legal record of Public Rights of Way, known as the Definitive Map, by recording a new route, partly as Byway Open to All Traffic and partly as Restricted Byway running between Staple Road at Twitham Farm (in the parish of Wingham) and Bridleways EE28/EE269A in the parish of Goodnestone.

Under the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981, the County Council may make an Order to modify the Definitive Map where it is considered that a public right of way which is not shown on the map is reasonably alleged to subsist.

The Planning Inspectorate has now published an interim decision in respect of this matter and has proposed to modify the Definitive Map Modification Order, as set out in that decision. A copy of the interim decision, proposed modifications and Notice of Proposal to amend Definitive Map Order is available in the Documents section.
