Public Footpath EE262, Eastry Public Path Extinguishment Order 2024
Kent County Council has received an application, and subsequently made an Order, to extinguish Public Footpath EE262 at Eastry.
Under the Highways Act 1980, an Order may be made to close or divert a Public Footpath, Bridleway or Restricted Byway where it is in the interests of the landowner and/or the public to do so. In considering a proposal, the County Council will have regards to whether the new route is substantially less convenient to the public and the impact of the proposed diversion on the public enjoyment of the route as a whole.

On 08 October 2024 the County Council confirmed the above Order under Section 119 of the Highways Act 1980. The Order comes in to force on 25 October 2024.

If a person aggrieved by the Order wants to question its validity, they can make an application to the High Court within 6 weeks of the 25 October 2024.
