Various roads in Dover and Deal - Amendment 99: Waiting restriction order

The effect of this made Order will be to introduce new or to extend or amend existing waiting restrictions (double yellow lines) in the following lengths of road in the district of Dover:

Sholden New Road, Deal –

  1. On the north eastern side from its junction with London Road extend the existing lines by 51 metres in an easterly direction.
  2. On the north eastern side from a point opposite and in line with the south western boundary of Sholden Village Hall to a point in line with the south eastern boundary of 2 Lodge Cottages.
  3. On the south eastern side from its junction with Paddock Road extend the existing lines by 70 metres in an easterly direction.
  4. On the south eastern side from a point in line with the south western boundary of Sholden Village Hall for a distance of 26.6 metres in a north easterly then south easterly direction.

Saxon Street, Dover – On the south side from a point 57 metres from the junction with Effingham Street remove one parking bay for a distance of 4.2 metres in an easterly direction and replace with double yellow lines.

This order has been made for the following reasons:

  • for avoiding danger to persons or other traffic using the road or any other road for preventing the likelihood of any such danger arising.
  • for preserving or improving the amenities of the area through which the road runs.

  • for facilitating the passage on the road or any other road of any class of traffic (including pedestrians).

  1. On the north eastern side from its junction with London Road extend the existing lines by 51 metres in an easterly direction.

  3. On the south eastern side from its junction with Paddock Road extend the existing lines by 70 metres in an easterly direction.
  4. On the south eastern side from a point in line with the south western boundary of Sholden Village Hall for a distance of 26.6 metres in a north easterly then south easterly direction.

Saxon Street, Dover – On the south side from a point 57 metres from the junction with Effingham Street remove one parking bay for a distance of 4.2 metres in an easterly direction and replace with double yellow lines.

    Following the statutory consultation period, the scheme has been reviewed and the decision has been taken to make this Order permanent.

    Anyone may, by application to the High Court by 21 November 2022, challenge the validity of the Orders or of any provision contained in them on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, or any instrument made thereunder, or that there has been a failure to comply with any statutory requirement to the Orders.
