Diversion of Public Footpath CH23 & CH24 at Herne Bay

Consultation has concluded

Kent County Council has received an application (on behalf of Canterbury City Council), and subsequently made an Order, to divert part of Public Footpath CH23 and CH24 at Herne Bay.

Under the Town and Country Planning Act 1990, an Order may be made to close or divert a Public Footpath, Bridleway or Restricted Byway where it is necessary to do so to enable development to take place.

    On the 15 September 2022, Canterbury City Council confirmed the above Order under section 257 of the Town & Country Planning Act 1990. Please note that the Order does not come into force until it has been certified by the Kent County Council on behalf of Canterbury City Council.

    If a person aggrieved by the Order wants to question its validity, they can make an application to the High Court within 6 weeks from the 11 November 2022.
