Clive Road to the New Thanet Parkway Station, Cliffsend in Thanet - Shared Use Cycle Track

Consultation has concluded

The effect of this proposed Order would be to change part of Footpath TR32 and build a new section from Clive Road to the New Thanet Parkway Station, Cliffesend in Thanet to be shared use - to include cycles.

This order is being made for the following reasons:

  • the new Thanet Parkway Railway Station is planned to open in May 2023 and will improve rail accessibility in the area. The Station includes secure cycle parking and so Kent County Council intend to convert a section of the existing public footpath to permit cyclists as well as pedestrians. This will provide residents in Cliffsend village with a safe route to access the new railway station.

The scheme will be reviewed so that the Council can make the decision to make the Order permanent, amend or abandon it.

Full details, including the scheme plan, can be found in the Public Notice and Statement of Reason document.

Any person wishing to object or support the Order before it is made permanent can do so via our response form.
