Care Quality Commission Assessment of KCC Adult Social Care Services

We need your help preparing for the CQC’s assessment later this year.

Kent County Council (KCC) provides adult social care services to people in Kent.

The Care Quality Commission (CQC) is the independent regulator of health and adult social care in England. They make sure health and social care services provide people with safe, effective, compassionate, high-quality care and they encourage care services to improve.

A new CQC assurance process for adult social care functions is being launched. The CQC will be visiting us anytime from April 2023 to assess how we're making a difference in Kent.

A key part of the CQC assessment is how we place people's experiences at the heart of our decisions, and we expect to be assessed across the following four themes:

  • Working with people
  • Providing support
  • Ensuring safety
  • Leadership

We want to ensure that the assessment is co-produced with the people we support, our staff, partners, and providers. It is important that we reflect and showcase the areas in which we are working well but also identify the key areas we need to improve on.

If you or someone you know is currently receiving adult social care services from Kent County Council (KCC) we want to hear from you!

Your feedback is vital and will feed into ongoing work to ensure that people’s views are reflected within the assessment and will be used to help us complete a self-assessment ahead of the CQC’s visit.
