Mercery Lane, Canterbury in the District of Canterbury - Amendment 9: Prohibition of Traffic Movement

The effect of this proposed Order would be to prohibit any motor vehicles unless authorised from entry on Mercery Lane in Canterbury - for its entire length

This amendment will also correct some minor administrative errors that have been found within the consolidation order of 2024.

This order is proposed for the following reasons:

  • for avoiding danger to persons or other traffic using the road or any other road or for preventing the likelihood of any such danger arising
  • for preserving or improving the amenities of the area through which the road runs
  • for facilitating the passage on the road or any other road of any class of traffic (including pedestrians).

The scheme will be reviewed so that the Council can make the decision to make the Order permanent, amend or abandon it.
