Public Footpath AT72 (part), Newenden Public Path Diversion and Definitive Map and Statement Modification Order 2023

Kent County Council has received an application, and subsequently made an Order, to divert part of Public Footpath AT72 at Newenden.

Under the Highways Act 1980, an Order may be made to close or divert a Public Footpath, Bridleway or Restricted Byway where it is in the interests of the landowner and/or the public to do so. In considering a proposal, the County Council will have regards to whether the new route is substantially less convenient to the public and the impact of the proposed diversion on the public enjoyment of the route as aw hole.

    The above Order was confirmed on 02 January 2024 and will take effect on 30 January 2024.

    If a person aggrieved by the Order wants to question its validity, they can make an application to the High Court within 6 weeks from 19 January 2024.
