Alkerden Lane, Swanscombe in the Borough of Dartford - Amendment 2: Prohibition of Traffic Movements

The effect of this proposed Order would be to prohibit certain vehicles from entry into the following length of roads in Dartford:-

Alkerden Lane - (1) No right hand turn into Colyer Drive except for buses, cycles and authorised vehicles. (2) No left hand turn into Colyer Drive except for buses, cycles and authorised vehicles
Colyer Drive - Install a bus gate for buses and cycles only from a point 22 metres south of its junction with Alkerden Lane for a distance of 100 metres in a southerly direction.

This order is proposed for the following reasons:

for avoiding danger to persons or other traffic using the road or any other road or for preventing the likelihood of any such danger arising
for preserving or improving the amenities of the area through which the road runs
for facilitating the passage on the road or any other road of any class of traffic (including pedestrians).

The scheme will be reviewed so that the Council can make the decision to make the Order permanent, amend or abandon it.
